Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Nidly Studios (“we,” “us”) handles your information in Nidly: Family Organizer (“Nidly” or the “App”) on iOS and Android. By using the App, you agree to this policy. If you have questions, contact us at nidlyapp@gmail.com.

1. Information we collect

• Account information. On iOS you sign in with Sign in with Apple. On Android you sign in with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. Through whichever you choose we receive your name and email address (an Apple email may be a private-relay address) and create an account identifier for you. We never see or store a password.
• Content you create. To provide the App and sync it across your household, we store what you add: recipes (including recipe photos), meals, grocery lists, tasks and projects, and calendar events (including their notes and any location text you enter). We also store your household details — household name, invite/join code, and the family members you add (names and avatars), which may include children who don’t have their own account.
• Notification & device data. If you enable notifications, we store a push notification token, your device’s timezone, platform, app version, and a device identifier (Apple’s identifierForVendor on iOS, a Firebase Installations ID on Android) so we can send reminders and daily briefs.
• Subscription status. Paid subscriptions are processed by Apple’s In-App Purchase. We do not receive or store your payment details or Apple receipt — only whether your household has active premium access and which member enabled it.

2. Permissions you can grant

• Photos. A photo you add to a recipe is uploaded to our cloud storage. If you scan an invitation or a recipe, that photo is processed once to extract the details (see “Third parties”) and is not stored by us.
• Location. If you allow location access, it is used only on your device to suggest nearby places when you add a location to an event. Your location is never sent to or stored by us. (The location text you choose is saved as part of that event.)
• Device calendar. If you allow calendar access, the App reads the calendar on your device to display it alongside your Nidly calendar. This calendar data stays on your device — it is never uploaded to us or shared with your household.
• Google Calendar. You can optionally connect a Google Account to see your Google Calendar inside Nidly. We request read-only access. We read your calendar list and event details (title, date and time, location and description) only to display them to you alongside your Nidly calendar. We never create, edit or delete anything in your Google Calendar. Your Google Calendar events are shown only to you — they are not shared with your household, not stored on our servers, and not used for any other purpose. We store only the access credentials needed to keep the connection working. You can disconnect at any time in the App, or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting deletes the stored credentials.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to provide, sync, and secure the App across your household; send the reminders and daily briefs you enable; power grocery features through Kroger (if you link it); extract details from invitations and recipes you scan; answer your questions in the in-app assistant; and manage subscriptions and provide support.

4. Sharing within your household

Nidly is built for families. Content you add is shared with everyone in your household, who join using your household’s invite code. Names and details you add for family members — including children without accounts — are visible to other household members. Please only add information you’re comfortable sharing with your household.

5. Third parties we share data with

We share information only as needed to run the App, and we do not sell your data:

• Apple — Sign in with Apple, In-App Purchase, and push notifications (APNs).
• Google — Sign in with Google (Android), and Google Calendar if you connect it. Our backend also runs on Google Firebase: authentication, database, file storage, functions, and notification delivery.
• Kroger — if you link a Kroger account, we send grocery item names, a ZIP code/store location, and cart items to Kroger so you can search products and add them to your Kroger cart. This is governed by Kroger’s own privacy policy. You can unlink Kroger at any time in the App.
• Anthropic — Nidly’s AI features are powered by Anthropic’s Claude. If you scan an invitation or a recipe, that photo is sent to Claude to read the details out of it. If you use the in-app assistant, we send it a snapshot of your household’s Nidly content so it can answer usefully — family member names, upcoming events, planned meals, unchecked grocery items, tasks and saved recipe titles. This is sent only when you use those features, is not retained by us, and is not used to train Anthropic’s models. Google Calendar data is never sent to Claude or to any other AI service.

6. Google user data and Limited Use

Nidly’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, data we receive from Google Calendar is used only to provide and improve the calendar features you turned on; it is never used for advertising, never sold or transferred to anyone else, and never used to train AI or machine-learning models. No human at Nidly Studios reads your Google Calendar data except where you give explicit consent (for example, to troubleshoot a problem you reported), where it is necessary for security, or where we are required to by law.

7. What we don’t do

Nidly contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and no cross-app tracking (we don’t use the advertising identifier or App Tracking Transparency). We don’t use crash-reporting SDKs, and we don’t access your contacts, microphone, or your photo library beyond photos you specifically choose.

8. Data retention & your choices

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the App — this removes your user record, removes you from your household (and deletes the household if you’re its last member), removes your saved devices, deletes any stored Google Calendar credentials, and deletes the sign-in account you created with us. You can also unlink Kroger or disconnect Google Calendar at any time. To make other requests, email nidlyapp@gmail.com.

9. Children

Nidly is a household-organization app intended for adults; it is not directed to children under 13, and children do not create accounts (sign-in is through Apple or Google). Adults may add family members, including children, as names within a household — please add only what you’re comfortable storing.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example, the EEA and UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA) — you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your information, or restrict its processing. Use in-app account deletion or email nidlyapp@gmail.com to exercise these rights.

11. Data location

We are based in the United States. Your information is processed in the United States and in the locations where our providers (listed above) operate.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including access controls that limit household data to members of your household, and secure storage for any third-party credentials you connect. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be reflected on this page.
